Healing Families. Strengthening Communities.

Building a Safer, More Compassionate Lexington.

I’m Alexus Walker. I’m a mother, a paralegal, a human rights commissioner, and someone who has lived through the very systems I’m working to reform.

I’ve walked beside families who felt unseen, individuals struggling with homelessness or mental health, and parents navigating courts that seemed stacked against them. I’ve lived those challenges myself, and I’ve seen how deeply they shape the lives of our neighbors.

But I also believe in Lexington, in our capacity to rise above struggle, to come together, and to confront our hardest problems with clarity and compassion. Our city is at a crossroads, and we have a chance to choose a future defined not by fear but by possibility.

I’m running for mayor because I believe we can build a Lexington where every family feels supported, where every voice is respected, and where healing and opportunity are not distant dreams but everyday realities.

This is our moment to come together, to lift each other up, to restore trust in our systems, and to create a city that reflects the very best of who we are.

Together, we can do this. Together, we can build a stronger Lexington for all of us.

Trauma Informed Mental Health and Family Stability

I believe Lexington must take a trauma informed approach to mental health and family stability by expanding access to care, strengthening support services, and reforming the systems that families use every day.

When we address trauma and mental health early, we reduce homelessness, addiction, violence, and improve long term outcomes for children and families.

Homelessness and Housing Stability

Lexington needs long term solutions to homelessness that combine affordable housing with trauma informed services, mental health care, and recovery support. Real stability begins when people have both a safe place to live and the resources to rebuild their lives with dignity.

Violence Prevention and Community Safety

I support a community based approach to safety that focuses on prevention, trauma recovery, youth support, and stronger partnerships between neighborhoods and public safety agencies. When families are stable and mental health needs are met, our entire city becomes safer and more connected.

Meet Alexus

I’m a mother of two, a paralegal, a human rights commissioner, and a survivor of the same systems I’m running to reform.

My journey through family court, CPS involvement, homelessness risk, and trauma didn’t break me; it made me fight harder.

I’ve worked in legal-medical partnerships, supported cancer patients, assisted families crushed by bureaucracy, and advocated for human rights in Lexington.

I know what it feels like to be ignored by people in power.

That’s why I’m running: so families like mine finally have someone fighting for them.
